East coast lows: friend or foe for kikuyu ryegrass pastures?
East coast low weather systems can be destructive by causing flooding, but they are also very beneficial by providing 20% of annual rainfall over a wide area of the NSW coast. LLS agronomist and Dairy UP team member, Peter Beale, said that understanding the management of nitrogen before and after east coast lows can make a large difference to pasture production. In this video, Peter and fellow LLS agronomist, David Deanne discuss east coast lows and important nitrogen management decisions for NSW dairy pastures.
