Are you interested in increasing pasture utilisation?

Ian Lean

Tonne UP is looking for dairy farmers interested in finding practical opportunities to increase pasture productivity and utilisation on their farm.

By participating you will have the opportunity to:
• Build on existing pasture management skills
• Receive support and farm-specific data and analytics related to pasture production and utilisation
• Connect with other like-minded farmers nationally (and potentially internationally) through shared project activities

What is Tonne UP?
Tonne UP is a 5-year research program focused on increasing on-farm pasture productivity and utilisation by 1 Tonne DM/ha through three projects investigating:
• Advanced Monitoring methods to better manage pasture production and utilisation.
• Improved conservation management of C4-based pastures.
• Improved management of seasonal pasture transition periods.

Could your farm be involved?
We are seeking interested dairy farmers from across NSW, VIC and WA who:
• Use a minimum of 50% homegrown feed in the diet
• Believe they have further opportunity to lift pasture productivity and utilisation through more precise pasture management
• Prepared to work with the project team to collect data and give the project an in-depth go.
• Have strong record keeping, including milk and financial data
• Are comfortable with being identifiable to industry (e.g. case studies)
