This PhD research by Dr Blessing Nnenna Azubiuke explored how artificial intelligence (AI) can support better decision-making in pasture-based dairy systems. The research focused on precision feeding, pasture biomass estimation, and automated grazing detection.

The studies showed that AI-driven feeding and optimisation models could increase milk production by up to 8.6% without increasing total supplement use, while new satellite and smartphone-based tools improved pasture monitoring and grazing management.

Together, the findings provide a strong foundation for future integrated decision-support systems that help dairy farmers improve feed efficiency, pasture utilisation, and farm productivity through data-driven management.
